From Paris To Washington

By now we are all aware of what is unfolding in Paris and beyond. Paris has been a target since Charlie Hebdo depicted cartoons of the prophet Mohammed. And who knows what would have been the desired outcome had not fate foiled an attack on a Paris bound train.

We can accept the fact that ISIS has a problem with the depiction of the prophet in any way, shape or form. Let us not forget their failed attempt to seek these cartoonists in our country. The Mohammed image controversy has been a 'fire in the hole' igniter for quite some time. We forget when radical Islamic terrorism first came to our soil. It was in 1977. Marion Berry was shot and the radicals' demands were:

The 12 gunmen had several demands. They wanted the government to hand over a group of men who had been convicted of killing seven relatives -- mostly children -- of takeover leader Hamas Abdul Khaalis. They also demanded that the movie "Mohammad, Messenger of God" be destroyed because they considered it sacrilegious.

Now I can understand the using of images to portray religious leaders as being sacrilegious or even idolatry. No one really knows what God or prophets or saints really looked like, if you want to be real about it.

So among all that is happening and what one believes or doesn't believe, ISIS has now made a direct threat to attack Washington. The attempted attack in Texas should warn us that ISIS operatives walk among us. An attack is imminent and we can only hope that there aren't any jihadis slipping through the cracks. But they specifically said Washington, and perhaps we should listen.

Although they say their attacks are targeting those that are launching attacks against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, they have a bigger beef against idolatry. On 9/11 there were many theories where the 4th jet was heading. The White House? The Capital? That would be too obvious. My guess would be the Supreme Court. Can you see the connection from what I've said?

The argument is ongoing but nonetheless there is an image of Mohammed at The Supreme Court building. Muslims across the board have been animate about images of the prophet as being sacrilegious, regardless if they are insulting or praising.  If they say sandblast the face, maybe we should sandblast or cover the face.

This has been ...A wake up call to logical thinking through my opinionated thought.
